Please Note - There is a lot of construction work being done at Malaga Airport during 2007 and delays to and from the airport are likely. Allow enough time to get back to the airport after your holidays!
In July 2007, the brand new car park opened providing a total of 2,500 new parking spaces. Works are still continuing on the new access roads and coach station. Terminal 1 opened with its extension of 9 new check in desks, 3 more boarding gates and another luggage carrousel and eventually there will also be a new runway. Its great to start seeing the works taking shape.
Malaga Airport is currently the fourth busiest Airport in Spain and in 2006 it handled over 13 million passengers.
Last summer, 2006, Malaga Airport saw the highest application for flight slots ever and it is predicted that the passenger numbers are set to break records again this year.
Malaga Airport has two terminals, 90% of its passengers arrive at Terminal 2 and the two terminals are interconnected on the upper level.
Flights to Malaga Airport are available from over 120 airports spread around the world.
There are 17 Airports within Spain itself that offer flights to Malaga and a staggering 23 UK Airports that have regular flights to Malaga.
